Car Air Conditioning

A Car Air Conditioning system works fairly easily and it’s hardly one of the systems that regularly fail in a car. But that does not imply that it is immune to malfunction. The implications of failing climate control would mean having to contend with an unregulated internal environment and between an engine that heats up and the hotness of the midday Sun, your car becomes a very uncomfortable place to be in. Some of the causes of a Car Air Conditioning malfunction can include:
- Contamination- caused by either air or moisture. If there is a leak in the system, air would infiltrate and interfere with the cooling efficiency of the system. If moisture finds its way in, it would easily freeze up inside, and that would corrupt the system altogether.
- Mechanical Ails- The system is predisposed to some mechanical problems, and these may include wearing out of the compressor, pressure switches that won’t work, and a faulty compressor clutch that is unresponsive.
- Insufficient refrigerant- For the system to work properly, the refrigerant provided has to be sufficient in quantity. Should the amounts be less than optimum the system will still work, but its effectiveness will be compromised.
- Dirty Condenser- Dirt, leaves, small twigs and sizeable particles can all infiltrate the condenser and compromise airflow. With enough accumulated dirt, the system would fail completely. It’s the reason why regular cleaning of the part is encouraged.
These are some of the likely causes of problems in the car air conditioning unit. Regular maintenance would ensure none of them happen to you.
